With the vision of making crypto accessible to the everyday person with a combination of easy to use and understand in everyday life, Wayex (previously CryptoSpend), launched the first Australian native crypto Visa card in late 2021. Since then, the platform has seen incredible growth with users being able to spend their crypto like cash, anywhere, anytime.

How we started
Wayex (formerly CryptoSpend) was founded in 2018 by Andrew Grech and Richard Voice, two friends who met at University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Confronted with the issue of having no way to easily access or use their crypto, they embarked on their mission to make crypto more accessible and simple for everyone. After the initial launch of the app in 2020 and the Visa Card in 2021, thousands of Aussies have started using their crypto on a daily basis, for groceries, restaurants, online shopping, food delivery services, paying bills, and more.
